Jack Rudman is a 23 year-old singer-songwriter and audio engineer based in Los Angeles, CA. His new single, “body of you” drops today on LeDouche Records. A haunting track clocking in at just under 3 minutes, “body of you” brings the listener into a dissonant world with a slow, yet driven melody gradually winding in and out of phase. Rudman pairs the music with confessional lyrics that have one foot in the folk genre. If you switched off My Bloody Valentine’s distortion pedals and added a softer Layne Staley singing, put that on vinyl then played it back with your finger pressing down occasionally to modulate the pitch/speed, you’ll be getting close to “body of you.” Dark lyrics and a bewitching sonic palette hint at a real depth waiting to be explored. This feels like a doorway into something big. No word yet on a full-length, but if this first single is any indication, we have a feeling it would be an equally unforgettable experience.
