Dubai’s Sanjana Nuwan Bandara new release Don’t Kill My Vibe/Don’t Ask Me To Play It Softly is a fresh mix of electronic and hip hop. “Don’t Kill My Vibe” dives right in with a strong lyric over a chill beat which manages to drive the song forward without ever feeling rushed. It’s impressive how much Sanjana manages to squeeze into 2:31, without ever feeling frantic or overcrowded. The production is spacious and leaves plenty of space for the vocals to swim in, while still providing interesting textures and beats to keep the listener engaged.
“Don’t Ask Me To Play it Softly” is a nice compliment to “Don’t Kill My Vibe,” with a similar laid-back delivery and super-solid beat. With a clever lyric and chill instrumentation, “DAMTPIS” is an easy track to hit repeat on. These two tracks appear to be Sanjana Nuwan Bandara’s first foray into music and the results are quite impressive. We’ll be keeping our eye on this new artist and look forward to hearing what he produces next!
