NYC/UK group The Backfires released their EP Consider the Backfires last month and it’s been getting a lot of airplay here at the office! Comprised of Alex Gomez, Harry Ruprecht and Matt Walter, the band started playing together in 2018 under the name Qualia Noir and toured across both London and the East Coast before rebranding as The Backfires in 2020.
Consider the Backfires captures the unique coming-of-age experience of a nineteen-year-old American living in London. This is an impressive EP, especially considering the challenges of being an international band during a global pandemic. This 6-song EP might just be the fresh burst of musical energy we’re all so hungry for after a year of social distancing. Highly recommended!
